 What Rotary Does
Rotary provides more than one hundred million U.S. dollars per year in
humanitarian and educational grants that save and change lives throughout
               the world.
In South Central Pennsylvania, Rotary District 7390 provides roughly $750,000 in support to local communities for literacy, youth, seniors, water, health, and area beautification projects, and over $250,000 to the Rotary Foundation for humanitarian and educational projects, at least one-third
of which benefits the district area.
On the education side, Rotary funds more than 800 students annually to study overseas and act as cultural ambassadors. Rotary, in partnership with six prestigious universities around the globe, also educates mid career professionals in peace and conflict resolution.
Rotary partners with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the U.S.
Center for Disease control and Prevention to eradicate polio from the face
of the earth. This has resulted in a 99% reduction in polio and has the world
on the brink of successfully eradicating this dreaded disease.
On the humanitarian side, Rotary addresses issues such as poverty, literacy,
education, water management, health and hunger, and a better environment.
